On Monday, February 13, 2023, the MSU community experienced a tragedy we never dreamed would reach our campus. In the aftermath of the event, students, staff, faculty, and alumni from around the world came together in mourning and to remember those we lost.
The Rock on campus is well known to anyone who has spent time at MSU. Changing almost daily, the Rock has been the site of protests, celebrations, vigils, and remembrances. Many in the Lansing area have been able to visit the Rock to pay respects, take a moment to reflect, or leave a token.
For those who are not able to make it to campus, we have created this virtual reality version of the Rock as it was painted on the morning of Thursday, February 16, 2023. The virtual version of the rock is viewable in your web browser, or by using your phone/tablet to “place” it so you can explore it wherever you are.
To view the virtual object on a computer or other device that does not support augmented reality you can access and interact with the virtual Rock using the file below.
